regal LS6 SURF

For decades dedicated surfers have had to scour the globe in search of the perfect wave. Relying on the elements became a way of life for experienced waxheads, who would scan weather reports, measure the tides, and hop into a van for just an hour or two of exhilarating fun. From the intimidating swells of Portugal’s Atlantic Coast and the legendary breakers of Oahu to the challenging tides of Cornwall’s rugged beaches and the sublime, endless rollers of Australia’s Gold Coast, it seemed the search would never end. Until now. The Regal LS6 Surf brings the waves to you, on demand, with the sort of wave-shaping powers that mankind has hitherto only dreamed of.

A 26-foot day-boat of incredible vitality, panache and elan, this vessel established new industry standards in its class when it was launched in 2020. A second-generation surf system includes 2,000 pounds of sheer ballast for a hefty presence on the water that carves waves with wild abandon, while a super-fast pump system helps you to control the vessel’s weight distribution at the touch of a button. A Volvo Penta Water Sport touchscreen monitor at the helm linked to wave-shaping tabs on the hull, meanwhile, gives you complete control over wave shape, size and directionality, allowing for the creation of consistent swells, perfectly formed barrels and choppy breakers that will test surfing capabilities to their limit. The feedback display also includes a live video stream, ideal for checking on the progress of your participant even as you face ahead. A set of Volvo Penta 350 EVC forward drives manage to keep propulsion safely away from those enjoying the wake, reduce emissions to stern and provide a remarkably smooth ride with plenty of turbo-charged power. Even the patented Fastrac hull, built with reverse chines, steps, lifting strakes and a 22-degree deadrise, seems to be designed around the surfing experience, promoting not only agility and speed, but the sort of efficiency that will keep out on the water long after the sun goes down. You’ll feel the thrill of waves as glossy as spun glass, leap over frothing water as gracefully as a gazelle, fall into the waves and let the wash roll over you. And then you will get back up and do it all over again.

It’s not all about wake-surfing, however. With plenty of storage across this yacht’s deck, including swivel-board racks in the Power Tower, hidden compartments under just about every seat and capacious in-sole storage for scuba-gear, you can use this boat for a wide variety of exciting watersports. Take a few paddleboards out with you and float away to secluded sandbars, secret beaches and long-forgotten islets. Alternatively try your luck at water-skiing, with or without the addition of boat-generated waves, by attaching a towline to the vessel. And if that wasn’t enough, there is plenty of opportunity to dive into the water from the bathing platform at the stern and enjoy a few laps around your yacht in the warm and buoyant waters of the ocean. If you find yourself still out as it gets dark then turn on the underwater blue LED lighting for illuminated, enchanting swimming adventures long after everyone else has sailed home.

Fixed to every great surf boat is a great engine. The Volvo Penta forward drive will propel you to top-speeds of up to 49 knots, while at a stable cruising speed of 26 knots you will enjoy a range of almost 160 nautical miles. Acceleration is just as impressive, with a time of plane of less than four seconds, and the ability to go from a standing start to 30 mph in less than ten seconds. You’ll feel that kick of speed when sat at one of two plush helm-chairs, with one facing a modern dashboard equipped with a 9-inch Garmin touchscreen, a hand-wrapped, power-assisted steel and leather steering wheel and a throttle located up against the bulwark for ease of use.

After surfing or swimming users can dry off at the ample, comfortable seating that predominates from bow to stern. Available in a range of chic tones including Hitch and River Rock, the seats are cushioned, Diamond-stitched and lined in marine-grade upholstery, with more than a dozen intuitively placed cup-holders ready to keep your refreshments secure, stable and close to hand. Up front, and accessed via a walk-through door located in the center of the tempered glass windshield, you will find a smart V-shaped bow-lounge. Backrests and integrated Fusion speakers line the bulwark, while a flip-up, teak-lined cocktail table is on hand for light lunches or early evening aperitifs. You can also fix the table into place, cover it with a cushion and turn this area into one casbah-style sunpad, perfect for lazy afternoons away from the action. A much larger seating area is located in the Seadek-lined cockpit, where bench seats connect to a pair of forward-facing chairs to turn into full-length chaise-longues for decadent lounging. Also available are a pair of fold-away rumble-seats with stern-facing views at the transom UltraLounge, perfect for watching acrobatic surfing displays. The Regal LS6 Surf also features an unusual added extra for a boat of this class in the form of head compartment with an electric toilet, a sink, a faucet, a coastal-themed interior treatment and even a half-moon port-light. Should the weather take a turn for the worse as you traverse the waters the Power Tower comes with an integrated Bimini top that can be assembled in a matter of seconds, giving this model year-round appeal.
