regal LX36

After a few years of owning this yacht, it will dawn on you. Maybe you’re scrolling through your timeline, maybe you’re flipping through that photo album – the one that reminds you of a coffee table book because the pictures are so finely composed. Or maybe, as you drift asleep, vivid frames appear in your memory: the chiaroscuro of a burnished Puget Sound sunset and the shadow of the Olympic Mountains, the rugged coast of Cape Cod, searing blue Bahamian waters. Each photo is taken from the same view: your LX36. Introduced by Regal Boats in 2021, the LX36 is neither day boat nor express cruiser, but something else altogether: what Regal calls its ‘day yacht.’ This graceful, versatile yacht is a multi-climate multi-tasker whose graceful, understated lines only hint at the immense onboard comfort and exceptional standard features.

A dive door to the side allows users to access the water for swimming or diving, and safely access floating docks. Walk up two large swim platforms and find a picturesque four-position UltraLounge – perch here to watch waves lap up against the boat and enjoy the refined comfort of multi-position backrest, which allows you to find the perfect place of repose: forward, aft, lounge aft, or completely flat – perfect for soaking up the sun. Users can also flip up two rumble back seats to feel closer to the cockpit.

When you’re done lounging, you can join friends and family in the convivial cockpit, the perfect spot for cocktails, conversation, or simply taking in the natural beauty of your surroundings. This stunning space features face-to-face L-shaped seating and a plush, generous bench to starboard. Running from port to starboard, the aft seating hides an electronically actuated hatch where owners may access a cavernous storage area housing batteries, breakers, a generator, SeaKeeper, a Yeti cooler, with space for a lilypad and more. Further seating extends forward and to port, with more storage beneath running all the way to the stern anchor. Since the LX36 is crafted to suit a range of activities out on the water, Regal has included a large, insulated in-floor fish box that can double as a cooler – perfect for the anglers on board. Another central hatch with deep storage space is also on hand to help you and your crew carry everything you need to have the perfect on-board experience.

On sunny days, users can open the retractable hardtop, walk-through windshield, and side windows to enjoy the height of indoor-outdoor living. Two gorgeous, finely grained teak tables to port and starboard encourage al fresco dining, while a Fusion Signature Series sound system with eight speakers throughout the boat allows you to fine-tune your experience, setting the perfect mood. Throw on some classic rock while you fire up the flip-up portside electric grill at the wet bar for an afternoon cookout or spin your favorite jazz album over intimate drinks with your companion.

This small galley area also includes a flip-up sink, deep storage, and a cutting board spot to keep your prep station organized, while a Yeti 65 cooler slides out of the cabinet, providing easy access to ice or other refreshments. Two refrigerators are also nearby for storing supplies. If desired, owners can opt for a refrigerator and a freezer unit instead. For those grey, drizzly mornings, keep the hardtop closed, savor a warm coffee, and shelter from the elements while still enjoying the view. While you’re at it, turn on the drop-down TV integrated into the hardtop and catch up on the forecast. As evening falls, pop-up lanterns behind the helm and companion seats create a warm, subtle ambiance throughout the boat.

The helm will impress even the most discerning captains and their co-pilots, with dual Volvo Glass Cockpit 16-inch displays with navigation, system controls, media controls, and other custom options. Thanks to these touchscreens, control of everything from navigation to music is just a fingertip away. A premium dashboard with handwrapped vinyl is both stylish and durable, offering impressive visibility, while the Yamaha Helm Master and joystick steering will make the most out of the zippy standard twin Yamaha 425 XTO outboards. With a combined 825 horsepower, these nimble engines reach 51.6 miles per hour at full throttle. For those who want a more relaxed pace, a cruising speed of 30.5 miles an hour at .99 miles per gallon, according to Regal’s own tests. A plush and sociable passenger seat can be found to port, with plenty of cupholders and an optional touchscreen built into the dash, which slides starboard to reveal a private, spacious step-down day head with a refreshing, calm feel with rich natural brown cabinetry and clean white fixtures.

Moving to the bow, Regal’s talent for space-maximizing design becomes readily apparent. Here, another substantial lounge area with ample seating feels like a secret hideaway, yet remains in contact with the rest of the boat, inviting users to freely mingle, picking up new threads of conversation as they make their way past the walk-thru doors to the cockpit for a cold beer or snack. A bow filler cushion allows users to add an extra seat or create a sunning area. For those planning to visit sunny, hot climes, there is an optional sunshade system that works manually to shelter the bow from the sun. As with the rest of the boat, this area has storage everywhere you look, beneath the seating and under the floor – including a discreet but substantial floor locker that runs forward to the helm. For those who want to turn their day trip into an overnight stay, a latch behind the starboard seat opens to reveal an enormous storage area that doubles as a quarter berth.
